ho-hum

yes, another smoothie shot. Sorry. I just...can't...stop. And yeah, It's been a busy, fun week with the kid, with lots of missed photo opps, but when do I remember to drag out the camera? When I see the pretty colours of the fruit. Oooh...pretty....

Love seeing your smoothie shots! We're obsessed with smoothies, and like to see what other folks put in theirs. Just wondering, is the vita-mix worth it?

Well, I've only had the Vita-Mix for about a week, so I'm in the honeymoon period, I suppose... but I love it. My husband & I have been commenting again and again that it's totally worth it for the smoothie making alone. All at once I can make 2 litres of smoothie, which is perfect for all three of us, so I make a big batch @ night and divide in into two big mason jars & one small jar for the next day. And it can really tackle a smoothie- even grinding up raspberry seeds if you give it an extra minute.

And there's the sorbets/frozen yogurts etc. Every night we've been having some new concoction made with frozen fruit, vanilla, and a splash of almond milk. SO GOOD. Or, some frozen banana, almond milk, vanilla, and cacao powder makes banana-chocolate soft serve.

It's soup capabilities seem awesome, too. I've only made one (improvised) soup, but it was piping hot after 4 minutes or so. Not just like "okay, it's warm enough", but like steaming, blow-on-your-spoonful hot.

So it seems like it's going to be worth it, but again- I'm in week one ;)

Oh! And the grains attachment does a bang-up job making flours. It turned my spelt grains into a soft flour in under 30 seconds :)
