My Dad and his MGA

I am on this earth because of the car in the photo.

My Dad had that MGA in the Fifties and early sixties.

He attempted to sell it to finance a trip to Chile.

My mom called the ad in the Newspaper classifieds.

They went out on a date and she tricked him into staying by getting him to marry her.

He later sold the car and now has terrible taste in autos.

I believe this is what my parents
      were driving when they were
run into by a big chrysler.
Dad came out uglier than before
but sound. Mom lost most of
her left knee and almost bit
      through her tongue. She said
she was spitting glass for weeks.
      Subsequently Dad has refused to
own anything smaller than a Beetle.

      Yeah,
In my advancing years I am a little concerned with ballistic autos driven by mongoloids.

These cars are'nt real forgiving when whacked by 3 tons of Detroit shit.

Funny though, their main marketing slogan was "Safety Fast"

I think once my MGA is operable I'll stick to country roads.

Hi, I'm an admin for a group called MG MGA, and we'd love to have your photo added to the group.

Awesome story Chauss, your father looks like Steve McQueen in this photo. I've owned a 1966 MG midget, 1967 MGB, and an 1961 Austin Healey Sprite, but I've always wanted an MGA or an MGB, but I never got around to it. Thanks for the story...
