Sometimes the all knowing Google doesn't know so much. When I searched 'find a house' on Google somewhat aimlessly, I ran into Jeff Robbins and Lullabot who build great Drupal websites and had some things to say about Drupal being used for the White House website. Even more odd, this showed up at the bottom of the first page. This picture is my evidence.

Incidentally, they did not help me find a house. (Know of any cool house hunting websites?)

For the safety conscious among us, I've been drilling into my daughter that she never touches the soldering iron (ever!) since I don't trust her distracted 3yr old head to recognize when the light is on.

At no point in these pictures was the iron on, but she is forever asking to "see my work" and I've shown here just about everything else. Every time she asks me about all the parts and then Make Magazine decided it was "Teach Your Family to Solder" Makecation week so I decided to teach her how to solder, without actually applying heat.

1/2 the time was drilling her with "when do we touch the soldering iron?" to which she successfully responded several times "only when Daddy says so!" and so forth. She's very clear that touching it without my full and complete attention and permission is extremely dangerous.

Yeah, she's three (no heat applied).

I had trouble getting her little hands comfortable holding the iron in a more steady form. Also, without heat, it is hard to understand the concept of waiting till the solder melts. One step at a time.

After getting the three points (part, soldering iron tip and solder) together she rejoiced with "I did it Daddy! I did it!" This geek dad could hardly contain the pride welling up within. :-)

It took a bit of work, but her form did improve over time. She was so pleased when I said "Do you want to learn to solder?" Jumping up and down did happen and she did have a clue that it meant playing with that orange handled tool that is so clearly off-limits. :-)
