I played a hunch, and got this

Not having taken any pictures for a couple of days, I developed a bad case of shutterbug fever, and late in the afternoon decided I needed the take action and pursue the only known remedy for this condition. I grabbed my camera, got into my car, and headed north on Loop 101, not knowing where I was headed, but sensing that if I simply followed my instincts I might find a good place to take some sunset photos. I ended up a couple of miles west of the turnoff to Lake Pleasant Regional Park, and for reasons that should appear obvious, I stayed put at this location for awhile.

Although this is definitely the better of the two, another photo of this same sunset may be seen here.

Done! And thank you for the instant fave. I think I have just about developed the ability to smell a good sunset when it is still a few hours away!

Yes, I agree with that. When I visited Italy a few years ago, I received an inspired revelation, to the effect that all righteous landscape photographers will go to Tuscany when they die. I still believe that today, but with one modification: they will be allowed to go back and forth between Arizona and Tuscany.
