May Trail Daze 2007 |
You’ve gotta hand it to the Schulze’s.
Even with the new addition to the
family, Mia, they found the time to host
a trail work day on a beautiful Memorial
Day weekend. They also managed to
convince about 17 of their riding
buddies to give up the better part of a
perfect riding day just to dig in the
dirt. And to top it off, they agreed to
work on a trail other than their adopted
trail of 3rd Divide. Thank you Chris
and Trista!!
Thank you also to everyone in the group
who made a HUGE effort removing the
inner sough and outer berm on Empire
Creek Trail, and worked to establish a
2% out-slope on the trailbed to
accommodate proper water drainage. This
group produced one of the most effective
volunteer efforts by any group who has
worked with SBTS. They finished
sloughing and berming the lower-most
3,000 linear feet of Empire Creek Trail
in just three hours! This group
Kicks-Ass.
This work day is part of a larger
effort to restore Empire Creek Trail to
a sustainable condition. SBTS received
a small grant to remove flowing water
from the trailbed.
Thanks again from SBTS.
