Lors de la toute première mission exploratoire du fuseau 3 de BR-129,
il y a de ça déjà 78 ans, les biologistes avaient rapporté plus de 900
formes de vie microbienne à étudier. L'une des plus médiatisées à
l'époque a été la bactérie sumolphotamique.
Elle se reproduit à un taux effarant de presque 1000 générations à la
seconde en milieu sulphurique, et on s'est rendu compte qu'elle
causait une maladie mortelle très virulente chez les écureuils de
laboratoire. Une certaine panique intersidérale s'en est suivie à la
suite d'une série de reportages alarmistes. À ce jour, on n'a
toutefois recensé aucun cas de transmission chez les humains.

During the very first exploratory mission of the 3rd time zone on BR-129, 78 years ago, biologists brought back more than 900 microbian lifeforms to study. One of the most mediatized at the time was the Sumolphotamic bacteria. It reproduces itself at a stunning rate of nearly 1000 generations per seconds in a sulphuric environment, and it was soon discovered that it caused a very vicious and deadly illness to laboratory squirrels. An intergallactic panic followed when medias spread alarmist reports on that. But to this day, no transmission to human has ever been documented.
