@ klsanderson: Thanks so much. Nice to see you here. I like the trees also. Aside from some highlighting work on them, all trees were part of the original image. I like how this came out with the city looking almost as if it is rising up out of the woods.

@ PinkTulip: Thanks PT. This was my first try at a faux ttv. I'm happy that you like it!

@ DC Jeff: Thanks for your comment and for stopping by, Jeff. I appreciate it. Welcome!

@ jeffreywithtwof's: Thanks Jeff. I took this picture just a few days ago and was not happy with the end result. So, I thought I would take a stab at salvaging it with PS. I've never done a ttv-type before and this one seemed like it was a natural fit to that style of photo. Glad you like it.

@ xeno(x): Thanks for the invite! I don't do much hardcore PS work so it means a lot that you like this one as it was really a bit of an experiment for me.

@ alison lyons photography: Thanks kindly, alison and thanks for your visit.

@ johann Smari, sistereden2, Flamelilyfox, David Van Bael, divlja: Thank you all!

really nifty. has a bit of a sci-fi feel, I like it a lot!

    14. ~BostonBill~ (53 months ago | reply)

thx anniebee! This turned out quite a bit different than originally planned. Sometimes you never know what direction you are going to take. That's part of the fun of it for me.

I like the treatment of this one! Excellent work!

      As seen in B Square

i don't typically like photos of statues

but this one is amazing --

      looks like a holga explosion

    18. Steven Hight (53 months ago | reply)

I agree it does look to be exploding, elements spread all over like a collage almost and, like a lot of you work, there is a sinister element present. very nice

    19. ~BostonBill~ (53 months ago | reply)

Thanks, chercher la femme. With the exception of some cemetery statuary, these are usually not one of my favorites either. This was one of those instances where you casually pass by something on the street and then stop to think "hey, I should really go back and take a picture of that". I'm glad I went back for this one. Thanks for your comment.

    20. ~BostonBill~ (53 months ago | reply)

Thanks for your comments, Steven. This one's a bit dark even for me. Although I have a few darker that I have yet to post. ;)

finance & progress never looked so sinister ..... suits the times, again!

    22. tramper2500 (53 months ago | reply)

I love this photo .. it has lot's of great contrast

    23. ho_hokus (53 months ago | reply)

nice one! got a sort of 'war of the worlds' feel with that crane hovering, very good.

The snow falling in the foreground makes me feel like I'm shooting through time. I know what you mean about progress. I'm slowly watching the once sleepy town of San Diego, turn into something not so sleepy.

    28. _marmota (53 months ago | reply)

I first saw this over in B Square. Excellent work.

    29. ~BostonBill~ (53 months ago | reply)

Thanks again everyone. I'm glad y'all like this one.

swswann: Don't read too much into it. I don't think finance or progress are particularly sinister in and of themselves. However, I do tend to like sinister photos from time to time. ;)

tramper2500: Thanks for the love. :)

ho_hokus: I can totally see that 'war of the worlds' thing. Quite frightening!

      tonywoodphoto: Thanks for the invite!

      kkozanecka: Thanks for your comment!

gary isaacs' photos: Nice to see you here. So glad you appreciate the metaphor.

toddland: Thanks much! That means a lot.

[ CK ]: The sleepy town of San Diego. I don't know about that. Someday the world will be like NYC; never sleeping! That is the price of progress, I guess. ;)

      mikejuiliano: wow, thanks!

_marmota: Thanks so much. It’s appreciated.

I’m not exactly the steadiest gun in the east in case you haven’t noticed by now. Maybe that’s why I take practice shots using statues. ;)

      Thanks for the kind compliment.

still so adamant about finance not being sinister? ;-)
