Similipal tribes
A tribal lady beats wild rice bushes to get some grains for food. This
variety of rice is perhaps the oldest parent strain in the world and
most of modern rice varieties are genetic descendent of this grass
like growth. The rice tastes good..and has a nutty flavor if eaten
raw.
This lady toils for about an hour to get a plateful of rice..this is
done after all other errands are taken care of, and hence the rice
used is almost factory fresh.
Maybe this was the historical 'Ghaas ki roti' that was the supposidely eaten by the King Rana pratap during his exile in the woods during his battle with invaders..

Wow, this gives me new appreciation for the rice I eat. Toils for an hour? wow. And I love seeing ladies with the traditional no-blouse sari.

Earthy colors -- parched -- like the expression on her face.
