Concert Crowd (Osheaga 2009) - 30000 waiting for Coldplay

Concert Crowd at Osheaga 2009 festival, waiting for Coldplay. The Osheaga Music & Arts Festival was held at Parc Jean-Drapeau on Île Sainte-Hélène island, and headlined by Coldplay and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Lot of performers from the lineup were performing at the All Points West Festival 2009 a day before in New York City.

I have seen several concert crowds over the years (actually just 2 years), but the Osheaga Crowd beat others down to the ground. I badly under-estimated what 30 thousand meant on the first day, and ended up quiet far away from the stage. Though was slowly able to crawl my way to the middle. No doubt Coldplay can pull such big numbers easily.

Thankfully, this was not a heavy rock crowd, otherwise there would have been a huge stampede with people jumping, dancing and pushing. Not to mention people crowd surfing and doing stage jumps.

I am still figuring out a lot of gems in this photo. Put up a note if you find anything wacky.

Some of the artists I got to see included Coldplay, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Jason Mraz, The Decemberists, Arctic Monkeys, Vampire Weekend, Girl Talk, Rufus Wainwright, The Roots, The Stills, Tiga, Lykke Li and Elbow. That's it for this summer!

    Hehehe, this is not for me anymore and trust me I've done that too!! Once, still in Brasil I saw The Police in a crowd worse than that in a very rainy day. Oh my... I said to myself, nevermore!
