Mexico City - Diana Fountain near El Ángel de la Independencia

Newer Older

Taken near the El Ángel de la Independencia monument in Paseo de la Reforma, Mexico City

Please View Larger On Black

The Diana fountain roundabout is situation near the world famous El Angel structure, aka The Angel of Independence, Its a structure featuring the Roman goddess Diana, who is considered as the goddess of 'hunt', hence the arrows. In fact, it was originally named 'The Arrow Thrower of the North Star'. Not to be confused with Cupid (due to the arrows)

What I really like about the photo is that the top rays of light seem to go behind the structure. Can't be done much justice without seeing in bigger size.

p.s. I had to wait for any buses to pass by (to cover the top rays), so sorry to folks who I kept waiting.

Wow, impressive! It gets better the longer you look at it.

I remember the wait but it was definitely worth it seeing the end result. Though I was sure you would get mugged with that tripod at 2am in Mexico City!!
