boundless in energy... boundless in strength of surf and sky. something about the sea and its energy speaks to me. it keeps me going in the dead of winter and it satiates a longing in the warmer months. to me, it is timeless.

i had a winter visit with the little fellow in this photo last night. even wintertime can't hold back the energy inside him. boundless.

as the end of summer approaches, i am relishing all the memories that we have newly made. there has been a lot of change over the last season. change for the good. change that was life altering. and while the thoughts in my head seem monumental, all that really matters is the connections we make.

sometimes you have to step away to see the whole picture. to appreciate. to change and grow... and hopefully learn. and all the time, daily reminders of good things are around. am grateful for that.

it feels as though summer is coming to an end. and while i welcome the crisp air of autumn, i also mourn the loss of warm nights outside, evenings that seem to stretch on forever, the slower pace of life that the lack of school allows. this scene represents the last night before the school season... i can still smell the marshmallows roasting over the fire, hear the giggles from the girls as they perform their swingset acrobatics, feel the warm breeze as the sun set over the field. i want it back.

it's my birthday. yep. and birthdays to me are still magical. even after all these years that are piling up. well beyond the point that you can put the appropriate number of candles on the cake. but still, the magic is there. i have always felt this way. this past year has been one of growth, and i can happily say i don't mean that in the literal way :) i have learned many things about myself. always said the 40th year would be one to try new things and be a better person. i have... travelled to other countries. come out of my shell a bit and met several new people that i now proudly call friends. stood up for myself when it really counted. realized that it is better to give. been astounded at the kindness of other people. been amazed at the transformation of my 2 daughters from children to mini versions of real people with their own thoughts, opinions, and visions. reconnected with some old friends. spent time laughing. discovered that the little things really mean everything. did some things i thought i wold never do at this age... and glad i did. wore a bikini for the first time since becoming a mom. been appreicated. been loved. found more pieces of myself.

thank you to everyone that i have come to know in this flickr world. because of you, my cup is more than half full. :)
