Los Angeles - a river runs through it.

How many movies have been shot in that concrete river bed?

Beginning March 2010 this photo is on permanent display in the California Science Center, Los Angeles, CA.

The large yellow building in the center is the old Sears store and warehouse in East L.A.

As an Englishman used to windy streets it was a bit freaky landing at LAX, seeing all the houses on dead straight streets in the grid pattern with swimming pools in all the gardens. I never got to see LA like this though...

What you can't see on those dead straight streets is about 5 million cars, not moving and usually poluting our air - but not on the day I snapped this picture. Thanks for your comments.
