Oh man!! Great job. So do you create the atmosphere and then fill it with the characters and vegetation? Do you just experiment with backgrounds?

this evokes that scene in 2001 A Space Odyssey when the apes touched the black obelisk and advanced to a new intellectual level...what a fantastic painting dan!

    thanks again guys!

robert ~ yeah, i usually let the atmosphere dictate the direction of the piece. i begin by playing around with the paint for a while until i feel something... then i go ahead and begin to create the surroundings and characters.

gregory ~ yeah... i can definitely see that... great scene, great movie!

Wow, Dan, it's exquisite! Those airborne alien-apples are just too cool, & the glowing chosen one... & the delicate seedheads on the banks, & the overall atmosphere-- it's just a knockout!

I so wish I could get to that show. But I'm grateful that I can see it here at least!
