Whenever I see the Purple Martins flying under a good light, I feel challenged to try a good picture one especially the male which is all purple-black. So difficult to get the details especially at the speeds they fly.

This pair of Mottled Ducks were playing while flying and they made several passes where I took this picture. This play must be part of the courting ritual as they pair off to breed. A third duck joined them ocassionally in flight but later on disappeared after being told that three's a crowd.

The Green Heron is always a good subject and I have yet to take a bad picture of one. They are quite photogenic.

This Gray Catbird was courting a female nearby and was challenging everyone within sight. Luckily, he allowed me a couple of shots before he chased another Catbird.

Just a grabshot while having a conversation with a fellow photographer, this seagull passed overhead. Taken with the 500mm EF L IS lens, handheld.
