Chinese New Year parade | San Francisco | the Year of the Snake | Feb 2013 | Portrait

Another image that i love, from the chinese parade in San francisco this february. I dint have to do whole lot of processing here, except brighting the subject a little bit. I was thinking of cloning the kids in the image, but that wouldhave taken away the reality of the shot, which i generally like to keep... brightened the eyes a little and removed the redness. kept the colors as they are. I could've worked on the headgear a bit but it isnt that prominent and I am lazy.

Festivity in the Mountains : Roopkund Trek Himalaya

Festivity in the Mountains : Roopkund Trek Himalaya

As Promised, I searched a few of my old flash drives for old folders, and pulled out couple of images to process. this one is from Roopkund Trekking Expedition in Sep Oct 2009, My first himalayan trek.. You all know how much I love parades and processions, both watching em and shooting, latter a lot more actually, for very obvious reasons.

this one I shot from the vehicle which was fast zooming to loharjung. I think we were in the last leg of our road journey from kathgodam to loharjung because it was late evening when I saw these pretty little girls all dolled up and walking with the idol of Durga. I think it must be one of the days of Navaratri festival perhaps the 9th day, a day before Dusshera. the Ramleela is also performed around these times, and sometime they have processions going on everyday, but this was small, or at-least the glimpse of it.

I added tiny motion blur to take away the distraction and add movement to the image, which was already present, but felt more like a blur.

Glimpses of Green | iPhoneography | South River

Glimpses of Green | iPhoneography | South River

What a delightful day this saturday doing nothing just sitting back and staring at this green beauty. catching a scene or two of the movie as well...Just finished watching Tum Bin, and Now watching tanu weds Manu, and Oh I hear Kapurthala. that word just makes me giggle i have absolutely no idea why. but wow. Vividh Bharati was something.

For the friends who didnt quite figure it out yet, Vividh Bharati channel of All India Radio was conceptualized to combat Radio Ceylon in 1957 and within no time it proved to be a popular channel of every household, it still is. even now when there are hundreds of FM channels are in service in every city. Vividh Bharati is something that hasn't lost its charm.

Kapurthala is a town in UP state of India. the town has glorious past and rich history. it is here Guru Nanak sahib sowed the seeds of Sikh faith in the year 1499.

Coming to Bollywood movies.. TUM BIN a very sensitive and romantic flick... love the music. and Tanu weds Manu,.. Oh I am watching it for the first time.. 10 minutes past and I think i already like it. damn.. love the words Dalmoth and Martbaan.. , local language has its way to one's heart. nothing sweeter than it.

hahah..well.. goin by this rate.. i'd keep explaining the meanings...so I'd go back to my movie and when you get time.. do watch...
have a good weekend :)
