La Marzocco "S" Grinder

La Marzocco "Schomer" grinder. Don't know alot about it, direct drop through, low speed, big conical set. Talked to a few of the test Baristi. Some liked it, others said it felt wierd standing there holding the pf while it ground. One also said it still had some heat issue, and static cling retention as it left the bottom.
I actually like the visual design, but I wanted to get away from the usual beans resting on the burrs design. One, the heat, and two, possible multi bean sharing one grinder.

Looks nice. Do you know about how long it takes to grind a shot? Seems like 5-6 secs ought to be fine, longer than that would get weird, as you report the baristas commenting.

Where would you put the beans then, if not "resting on the burrs?" You want some sort of "green room" like the Tonight Show has? ;-)

Personally, I still like the concept of using an auger to feed beans to the burr area.

Nick, they would be in the "bean room" of course. Actually in a hopper bank of sorts, each fed to the grinding chamber by some means. One way I've been working on is the auger method. I posted a couple pics of that just now. While the screw drive is cool, the problem I have with it is it's not as simple as it could be. The could be is what I'm onto now. Coming soon...

A regular doser filled with whole beans at the top and a PF stand at the bottom, then it would be the LM "AJ" grinder

Hey John, can you believe it? Over 700 views on this pic! I've never had a photo come close to that. The peeps are very interested in that grinder.

Yeah Andy, that's crazy. I didn't think there was that many hardcore grinder users out there.
By the way, any more news on this?

I haven't heard anything, but I'm out of the loop.
