single girl #2
kaffe fabrics, mainly I used my scraps. a few non-kaffe prints thrown in. kaffe shot cotton background. unfortunately we've been having horrible wind and rain for over a week so i had to take these pictures indoors on my living room couch. you can't see the variety in color the shot cotton gives, i am so happy with how that turned out. really much easier this go around. the rings were made up in less than a week and after sitting on those for awhile i had finally settled on a background color. then i stitched the background arcs and pieced this month and just finished the wonky straight line quilting. it's now in the wash to make it all crinkly.

This is really wonderful- your background choice makes your rings sing. It is perfect and is making me rethinking my "safe" choice of white. I also like your quilting.

I love the straight line quilting! I'm thinking of doing that too and it's nice to see an example of how it works with the rings. Great job!

I've never like Kaffe that much. This changes everything! This is so wonderful. Very nice mixing of colors and such neat quilting. I bet those straight lines were fun huh?:)

This really is very beautiful. I too am thinking of either straight lines or round along the rings. But seeing this one makes me think I may straight line quilt it.

I really was. (20 years ago, ack!) Got a BFA with concentrations in Fiber Arts and Graphic Design. Nobody believes me either - Fiber Arts sounds snootier than weaving, but then people ask me what it means... it's nice to meet another weaver! and glad to see you didn't let your arts go by the wayside when you dropped out of weaving - your quilts are lovely!

this quilt reminds me of Australian opals for some reason
