You have taken what I think is a very unique photo of a much photographed building and city. Great job for not giving the standard brochure views as I think this is a truly beautiful shot.

Wow, thanks so much for your kind comments, fallingwater123! I agree that the Sears Tower and the rest of Chicago and its skyline are very popular photo subjects - I probably have dozens of photos of the lakeshore myself - and that is why I've always liked this photo. It definitely is different from most others. Thanks again.

Awesome. I always love this sideways view of the Sears Tower. I remember the first time I saw it from the perspective. For years I only faw it from the north or south. One day I found myself approaching the city from the western suburbs and was amazed by this landmark I've seen my whole life, suddenly seeing it from a whole a new perspective. You've captured that image for me. Congrats! Instant fav.

Interesting shot, I like how the buildings look through the clouds. Nicely taken! (under 100 views)

I hope that it is mist and not smog or polution :-)
But it is a great capture. For people like me who have never seen a skyscraper they must be really impressive...
Francesca... (67 months ago | reply)
Thanks again for all the wonderful comments!
@mirkocano, yes, skyscrapers are quite impressive and I'm lucky to live in a city where they dominate the skyline. That is a very thick haze in this photo... I remember the day I took it. It was very early in the morning and it was already so hot and humid... typical July day in Chicago.

beautiful.. looks like you live on flournoy (or lexington) right at loomis. a long time ago, i used to live at 1333 flournoy, just across from that church (notre dame?)... or so it looks like... i could be wrong.
Francesca... (66 months ago | reply)
jaymce - thank you & good call! The building is right on Lexington & Loomis. That's where I grew up, too. And you're right about the church - it is Notre Dame.
