Quite refreshing now that it's getting hot! It's so nostalgic. I miss fall/winter already :(

hi, I love the look of this square! I am thinking that if I use other colors it might be suited for a spring afghan, I just have one question, how does it look from the back? Is it very different? I don't really like to crochet afghans that look good only on one side. thank you!

I've seen it done in other colors in one of my crochet books and to me it still looks like a snowflake . lol. I prefer it with red, but that just my opinion. :) It's worked all on the right side "no turning" so it looks just like any other granny square, it has a definite front and back.

so pretty, i agree with greendiana2002 - it would also look great in pastels or even contrasting brights.

Oh this is beautiful. It would look great with a dark blue as well. Nice and frosty for a winter afghan.

I did a similar square some time back, but the "snowflakes" are on hexagons. I like this one much better! ....and, I LOVE it on red!!

I really like this square. Most of the time when I see snowflakes, they are hexagons. Did you find the pattern online, or is it in a book? If you're sharing, my email is windsweptpetite@gmail.com

I got the pattern from a book. American School of Needlework 101 Crochet Squares by Jean Leinhauser. But you can find the patternHERE for free (only they made it into a potholder)
