Very colorful. You must have good knees.

Those foam gardener's knee cushions from the hardware store are great knee savers.

How do you find such colorful rocks?
Lance & Cromwell 16 months ago | reply
Some of the beaches along the Pacific Coast have colourful rocks. Just takes time and patience to go find them and carry them up. Also, this photo was taken on a partially rainy day so the rocks in this photo are mostly wet which really brings out the colour, the same effect as you would get if you polished them.

this is gorgeous, my seven year old daughter and I are in LOVE with it! She has a corner of the garden we call her Fairy Garden and something like this would be perfect there. We live in CA along the beach, where are you finding these?

This is so beautiful and inspiring! Thank you for sharing!

Some of these rocks come from beaches in San Luis Obispo County, CA, but most are from beaches along the southern Oregon Coast. Best time for finding rocks is late winter after winter storms have pulled the sand off the beaches and exposed them. At the right time and on the right beach one can fill a 5-gallon bucket with rocks like these pretty quick.

stunning work!! Very inspiring, if only I lived near the ocean! Maybe on vacation but I suspect the airlines would kill me with overweight charges on luggage *lol* (though I have been known to bring home a rock or ten in the past *lol*)

I understand all too well. I'm a rock-a-holic in need of therapy. But I love working with rocks, making rock walls, pathways like this picture, etc. Problem is I no longer have the stamina but I still get a few things done.
