      bloody mary? i had coffee and a hard boiled egg, but i should have had a bloody mary.

      edit: i see the v8 tag, but i still think we should all have bloody marys on the man.

      Ha! If only it were. I donno - I find taxes kind of fun. More fun than the average party I guess because I don't feel any need to drink to maximize the enjoyment.

      you know, i used to sort of enjoy filing taxes myself, but that was before i filed online. there's something relaxing about filling in all of the boxes on paper and doing very simple addition - maybe i should go back to that!. that was before i owed anything though (that definitely makes it less fun)

      I'm self-employed (as perhaps you can gather from the 1099-misc form), so my tax bill is quite large. But, you are still right - going through and filling everything in, knowing where every thread starts and ends, opening up the black box - it is very satisfying. I also enjoy the design aspect of it. Making all the numbers perfect and lined up - in handwriting, a contrast to the cold IRS docs. It's fun!
