Egg with bizarre "sphere crust" affliction on the stage of my microscope. Previous picture shows the approx 10x view...

Bizarre microscopic spheres on the surface of a chicken egg. They were hard. Approx 10x magnification. Next picture shows the entire egg.

Found dozens of this odd little animal (about 5mm long) scraping leaves on my potato plants in Sydney, Australia. Anybody know what it is?
