Screen and Doom traces. Yaxley

Beautifully wrought medieval rood screen in the church of St Mary, Yaxley, Suffolk. Above the screen can be seen very faint traces of a medieval Doom painting. Victorian illustrations , made when it was in rather better condition, show that the Damned, on the right of the photo, were being harrassed by an assortment of small horned devils.
