Morrissey live in Manchester

Morrissey live in Manchester

Unusually in G Mex, not a usual concert venue in the city.

It was sometime after the release of You are the Quarry in 2004. And really good.

Love him or hate him (and theres usually no middle ground here) The Smiths are still my fave band of all time.

Kings of Leon - live in Manchester

Kings of Leon - live in Manchester

My ticket from the Manchester Apollo 2004.

Their debut album Youth and Young Manhood was released in July 2003 and this concert was a month or so after the release of their second album Aha Shake Heartbreak.

The Manchester Apollo is my favourite venue by a mile. It's quite small (certainly when compared to that horrible monstrosity a few miles down the road) and they were pretty raw (and hairy) back then.

They seem to be able to pack the stadiums (stadia!) nowadays and I haven't bought anything of theirs for a long time - no reason, I've just lost touch with what they are up to.

Whitby Abbey & St Hildas Church

Whitby Abbey & St Hildas Church

I've been to Whitby a zillion times and seen a squillion photos of the Abbey - but can't recall ever having seen one taken from this spot. Now that could be because it's the absolute worst place you can ever take one from. Or it could be because you have to put yourself in mortal danger to get into that position.

lomo dog - 2!

lomo dog - 2!

not to be confused with my "lomo dog" pic.

OK so it may have been taken with the Diana F+ in almost the same spot, but this time taken with 120 roll film - 12 exposures for full effect - the lomo vignette being much more visible

Almost as visible as the scan lines from the **** poor Kodak scanner. With products like this, I'm surprised they are still in business. Ooops, they're not.

Somewhere in deepest, darkest Yorkshire

Somewhere in deepest, darkest Yorkshire

Ok, ok. It's not that deep or dark, its near Oxenhope.

I heard a chap (who had obviously overheard something I had said) saying to someone else in a stage whisper "if theres one thing I can't stand..... it's Lancastrians".

Sorry to disappoint you mate, but I'm a Manc. And they're scary. Boo
