Large Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake (Crotalus adamanteus) at Smyrna Dunes Park
Such a beauty! I wish the light etc. was better but regardless this was a lifer for me. I heard it rumored that a large rattler had been seen at the park so for the past few years I've kept my eye out for it. Low and behold this evening on my way back to the parking lot my eye caught this beauty crossing the trail up into the dunes. It disappeared into a Gopher Tortoise burrow.
