The legend of the Kitzsteinhorn: more than just a glacier, it's The glacier and the first glacier skiing region in Austria - an alpine inspiration 365 days a year. Surrounded by the highest peaks in Austria, this is mountain adventure at its most mighty. The pistes are vastly spectacular and constantly surrouded in a metre of natural snow. The slopes are extremely varied and offer everything from enjoyment on wide glacier pistes to conquering fast, steep runs. Excellent sport enjoyment and a real outdoor feeling are guaranteed here. The Austrian ski resort of Kitzsteinhorn is part of the Europa Sport Region Ski Area with access to 130km of downhill skiing, with 81 individual pistes. With pistes above 2500 metres, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.Kitzsteinhorn offers good sking, particularly, for Intermediate skiers. De Kitzsteinhorn is één bergtop in In het hart van Oostenrijk. De Kitzsteinhorn maakt deel uit van de Hoge Tauern in de Centrale Alpen en bereikt een hoogte van 3203 meter. In 1828 bereikte Johann Entacher als eerste de top. De Kitzsteinhorn is het middelpunt van een van de grotere gletsjerskigebieden van Oostenrijk. Al in de herfst en tot ver in de zomer kun je hier grote en zonnige gletsjerafdalingen bedwingen. Skiërs vinden hier pistes voor alle niveaus, van vlak en gemoedelijk tot en met meer uitdagende afdalingen naar de Sonnenkar of Langwiedboden. Op zoek naar nog meer avontuur? Dan moet je op de permanente wedstrijdafdaling, de buckelpiste of bij de pipes in Langwied zijn. Voor snowboarders is er op het gletsjerplateau een funpark. De Kitzsteinhorn is niet alleen de hoogste skiberg van het SalzburgerLand, je hebt hier ook een geweldig uitzicht vanaf het hoogste punt - bij het bergstation lijkt het alsof je op de top van de wereld staat! Skiërs nemen hier een pauze bij Ice Arena top. Een plaats van sleetje rijden, echte iglo's, een ijsbar en zelfs een sneeuw strand!
