Olympus PEN E-P1 with iconic strap
I couldn't get an Olympus PEN even though our store does sell them because the waiting list is long and I had no such privilege to jump the queue. Lucky me I didn't get it in Hong Kong, coz a Korean friend who used to work for Olympus made a few arrangement and I finally got it on the day I left Seoul, i.e. yesterday.
According to friend, the white PEN has around 40,000 people on the waiting list world wide, so .... I feel sorry if you are reading this drooling. PEN is actually cheaper in Korea at 995,000 won (HK$6,134) for the 14-42mm lens and camera kit comparing to HK$6,990 in Hong Kong, I also get 10% tax refund so the whole deal is like a 20% off.
Getting a reasonably priced camera strap in Korea is not difficult at all, most of the stationery/book store I visited have very nice straps to offer. I got this pastel blue one made by iconic from Kyobo book store. Yes this combination is less likely a guy's choice, but I just love it.
Today I got an adaptor so that I can use my high speed Voigtlander lens on this micro four third camera, although the lens color doesn't match well PEN's body, I do love the manual focus feeling and bokeh effects. As for my stationery adventure in Seoul, I will share with you in the next posts.
BTW, my translator told me that 14th April is a special day in South Korea, which I didn't know and found it so funny I couldn't stop laughing. 14th February is Valentine's day so girls get gifts from boys alright, the same day in March is the other way around. 14th in April is called Black Day, those who didn't get gifts from the other sex should gather and go to eat black noodle and 'celebrate' their singledom, imagine all of them in a noodle shop sobbing! (the same sound you hear in Japan/Korea when people eat noodles)

yup, I guess pastel is a great choice to match the PEN's white.
