This is one of the best shots of a hawk I have ever seen. Unbelievable sharpness, the composition is perfect - you are a master my friend. This is too beautiful for words, it is perfect.
Addendum: Just got back after looking at the EXIF data. You shot this with a 400mm so you had to be pretty close. Great fortune or great patience - or both. You also shot it at ISO 400 and the shot has no noticeable noise, so either your 20D's sensor is fantastic, sure it is, or you have some very good Photoshop skills as well - again, probably both. All I can say is that I admire your skills very much. Fantastic shot George. Just so perfect, the DOF at f/11 was the right choice for the focal length adn your composition with the strong diagonal is perfect, the ROT is well applied and the bokeh behind the hawk really makes him pop in the frame. I hope you are selling these shots, if not you should be - lots of folks would be interested. This is a definite wall hanger - great shot.

I have to tell you all a couple of things. I know this man, George, and I have seen him sit in a tiny fishing chair and wait six hours in 90 degree heat for the perfect shot of a bird of some sort that lives in a tree near my home. For him patience is truly a “virtue”. All I can say is the man loves what he does!!!!
