A Matter of Time.
When we happed on to this single lioness she had already brought the
zebra down but it was still alive but not struggling any more but you
could still see the cheeks puff up as it exhaled. A very dramatic
scene to watch. Quite a visual experience as the lioness finished her
quary.
Off beanbag. 20D W/ 100-400mm Lens.

Also asked if I were in Africa---Sadly NO. Still working over what I did
last year. I brought home over 6,000 shots. Many are very close to each other and I have been trying to break it up and spread them out a little.

Amazing! I know it's part of life...but I still can't help but feel sorry for the zebra.

I understand your feelings. Our guide said " Don't feel sorry for this one. Feel sorry for the one that got away with it's stomach ripped open and will live for 3-4 more days before it dies.

Amazing capture. I'm sure your heart was pounding fast. I bet it was hard enough just holding the camera steady on this scene. Well done.

Actually I'm a fairly cool person and yes it was exciting but no it didn't
"Set my heart to pounding" it was just another great photo opportunity that I was able to take advantage of.
