F181YDA
As a demonstration vehicle for Metro Cammell Weymann, F181 YDA had seen service with several operators including Dublin Bus in Ireland, before being purchased by Stevenson’s of Uttoxeter where it became No81 in the fleet. At the time, Stevenson's were acquiring quite few secondhand Metrobus Mk1s to modernise their growing fleet, but this was the only Mk2 variant owned. The bus gave the Company long service, before eventually passing to Arriva on the Arriva Group take over of Stevenson’s. I far as I know the bus still exists, but is now with Geldards Coaches in Leeds.
The photograph shows F181FDA in High Street, Burton upon Trent on 31st March 1990, not long after being purchased by Stevenson's.

Thanks for posting Claire... when you say demonstration vehicle for MCW, did they use this to show the design alterations on the later metrobuses?

MCW wanted to break into un-tapped markets with the Mk2 Metrobus, and so retained this one for demonstration purposes. I guess that they were keen to make an impression on the Irish market through Dublin Bus, but clearly that failed, when Dublin Bus plumbed for the Leyland Olympian.
