Bella

Bella

Jay and my first puppy together...Bella. She's with the gods now. When we made the decision to come back to China we had to make some tough decisions. We were very fortunate that a good friend of ours said she'd take Bella to live on her farm. Unfortunately we were told a week ago that she had succumbed to a snake bite. She grew into a very curious and inquisitive little being. Tragic news indeed and I have shed my tears. She held and always will hold a special place in my heart. Luckily the other key to my heart, the person to which that foot is attached, is still with me...I hope for many years to come!

Fly please....Fly!!!

Fly please....Fly!!!

Taken 6 years ago! I bought myself this remote control helicopter and try as I might I just couldn't master it. I took it to our favourite place in Shanghai. It's close to the Yu Yuan (Yu Gardens) but we just call it Tong Tong's because of this little guy. There's lots of space and I thought that perhaps I'd master it there. Eventually I gave up and gave the thing to Tong Tong himself. He had great fun giving it a bash!

Monkey and Panda

Monkey and Panda

Going through some oldies and found this one.
These guys are Monkey and Panda. They are my constant traveling companions and have special pouches sewn into my rucksack in which they accompany me. Here they are at the Great Wall. Although they were a little tired as they were only halfway back to the bottom from the summit in the distance behind them, they were kind enough to stop and pose for this shot...

The Innocence of Chocolate

The Innocence of Chocolate

I have been passing these munchkins every morning on my way to work for the last 2 months. They are the mascots for the World of Chocolate Festival here in Shanghai. They look so sweet to me (no pun intended) and there they stand, innocently, as if chocolate wouldn't melt in their mouths. Daily, however, I can't help but wonder what impish cavorting they have been up to in the night when this bustling city is asleep...
