96/365 - "On the Go" nr.7

96/365 - "On the Go" nr.7

Day Ninety-Six, "On the Go" theme, seventh day.
The gate to the beach, camping "The Captain", Isola delle Correnti, Sicily. This shot has been taken way at late dusk in the worst situation: ISO6400 (the noisest I dare to use), F2 (the less sharp), underexposed (I couldn't get anything sharp under 1/60 due to the strong wind), jpeg (due to the current theme!). So, I guess this is the worst situation for post processing I could possibily face.
I did it with Snapseed and like the results. I used Selective Adjust tool to locally desaturate the sky (where the magenta noise was most visible and annoying). The noise looks now more like analogue grain, which I feel is acceptable. Other tools such as Tune Image, Drama, and Details where also applied.

95/365 - "On the Go" nr.6

Day Ninety-Five, "On the Go" theme, sixth shot.
"Infiorata" (flowers' day) in the town of Noto is (I believe) worldwide known. This year the infiorata was dedicated to Japan and its master florists. The whole town gets crowded by locals and tourists coming to attend the creation of huge (and beautiful) flower compositions.
Post production done with Snapseed, this time instead of Drama I used the Vintage tool, setting to zero the texture effects but using its vignetting and color-warming features. A bit of Tune Image to slightly correct the white balance, and Selective Adjustment to refine the lighting conditions.

94/365 - "On the Go" nr. 5 - EXPLORED - May 17, 2013 #57

Day Ninety-Four, "On the Go" theme, fifth shot.
Macro shot of the typical nature on the sand of Calamosche, one of the most beautiful beaches of Sicily (so I've been said, I can't really tell since this is also the first Sicilian beach I've seen). The Carl Zeiss 35mm really shines with macros...
For some reason (lots of sand in the air?) the sky made the post production harder than usual. I used snapseed again, with Tune Image, Selective Adjustment, and a bit of Drama. I did the cropping directly with Photos (the original Apple's iPad app).

93/365 - "On the Go" nr.4 - EXPLORED - May 16, 2013 #84

Day Ninety-Three, "On the Go" theme, forth shot.
Fish market at Catania. You can guess how good the lunch was.
Shitty weather, however.
Again Snapseed. Again Tune Image, Selective Adjust, Details, and a bit of Drama tools. I'm almost getting close to a "workflow" :-)
I let my friends playing with Snapseed a bit on my shots, they are not photographers and yet got some decent results. It seems this app is really easy and powerful.

92/365 - "On the Go" nr.3

Day Ninety-Two, "On the Go" theme, third shot.
Taking snaps in the ancient Roman theatre of Taormina.
I shot in color, and used tools such as Drama, Tune Image, Selective Adjust, and Balck and White on Snapseed. I still haven't figured out how to go back and change one of the tools already used...
