my art journals

    these are my art journals from the past five years. i NEVER tire of looking at them and it makes me glad that I keep on buying the same style.

    the one on the left is from feb 03 until sept 06. back when I didn't make art on as much of a daily basis. the center book was sept 06 to jan 08. there's a lot of evolution in there. the last book on the right is my current one. at the rate I'm going this one will be filled before summertime.

      Cool to see the evolution of style. I'm the same with my visual journals. I love looking back on them. I almost never look at the earlier, text only versions.

      i could spend whole evening's quite happily on the sofa looking through these. have you ever heard of postsecret? look it up. you would love it.

      So do you buy a plain journal to paste your entries in? The thought has never occured to me to do something like this but I am immediately drawn to it. I LOVE it!

      yep, these are just blank books. I either paste stuff in, or just make the collages right on the page.

      Hm. It makes mr wonder if this is how we all start? My begining books also have much more writing than the following ones.

      I finished my very first art journal (or that is, my own interpretation of what an art journal looks like) back in June and it is as full is yours in the middel, can't even stay closed when I put it down, I love it !
      I have just started a new one, with big rings to hold the pages together because I want to add buttons and clips and more cards glued together.
      it is SO exciting and I agree that it never tires to look at it !
