Reproduction of the graphics on a sewing thread spool box, early 1900s. Lettering was hand made (well, with a computer) in Rhinoceros 3D, then finished in CorelDRAW.

My badass ancestor, Lieutenant-Colonel R. Hyvon, French Air Force, Legion of Honour commander.

He was a pilot on Handley-Page Halifax bombers during WW2, and flew various missions over Germany.

He was awarded the title of Commandeur of the Legion of Honour in 1963. This particular picture was taken in 1936 as he was 22.

He died on August 6, 2010, aged 96.
