Portrait with Fish

    From a shoot with Stephanie.

This is the sequel to this shot. I think blonde hair might have worked better, like in the original, because you're able to make out individual strands. I still like this shot, though.

The fish's name is "Bathtub". Bathtub the Fish.

Lighting info: Nearly identical to the old shot. Quote from there: "A 580ex on a stand, with an umbrella pointed straight down. A second 580ex, on camera with a bounce card, adds additional light to the face. The stand is placed in the bathtub, with the model holding it in place with her feet. The light settings were chimped to try and get the in-water and out-of-water lighting fairly equal. Also, a white bath tub seems to act a lot like the interior of a soft box, helping to spread and soften the light."

The only difference is that I didn't use the bounce card onto the face and instead bounced off the ceiling (and sometimes, the wall behind her head).

:: checks the "Way Back Machine" dials to see if i traveled back in time to the 90s ::

EDIT: oh, and i like the dark hair more than the blonde. i think it gives it a more solid "weight"

      You are SICK!

This image tears the house down! Can you get the same expression from the other model who did this image and with the goldfish (without the risk of electrical shock... naaaw I like the idea of death for a killer shot!)

      Your da man!

Amazing for so many reasons. There isn't a drop of water blemishing the face and of course, the entire concept! wOw!!

Yeah I agree about the blonde hair now. Didn't even think about how dark hair would look in the water when planning this shot. It almost looks as if the bathtub has a dark background...but not a big deal, the shot still turned out great and I LOVE the placement of "Bathtub" on this one! Great capture. =)

Im speechless! Simply faboulous!! It brings the orginal concept up one notch (with all due respect to the dude who originated the first bath tub pic). I think the one thing which spoils this image is the facial expression. But thats just me.
