my key lime pie
Topped with little blobs of freshly whipped cream. For Father's Day at my parent's house. I always think of Eric's father though when I make this and I think he really would have liked this with the whipped cream already on the pie.

I've never had this, it's not really an English thing, but it looks fantastic. We have some US recipe books, I'm going to have a go at making it sometime.

It's sweet/tart/tangy. A little slice goes a long way. I use the recipes from the Joy of Cooking for all components, from the cookie crust to the filling to the whipped cream, although I fudge on that a little. I tend to go light on the sugar in the cream, just to offset all the strong flavors coming from the filling.
One things for sure, I need a real piping bag with variety of tips. The 'blobs' were created with a plastic storage bag with the corner cut off, so there's a not so good looking area. Then again, its homemade and I like it's homemade look. :D
