Eagle Creek - Upper Missouri River Breaks

Eagle Creek - Upper Missouri River Breaks

This is shot at sunset at the Eagle Creek Camp site on the Upper Missouri River. A wonderful stop on our 45 mile canoe expedition! I used three images to create this High Dynamic Range image.

White Cliffs Eagle Creek

White Cliffs Eagle Creek

This is day 2 of our excellent adventure on the Upper Missouri. BJ and Muskegs tents are in the foreground. The wind blows from one end of the valley to the other, you can hear the wind coming and going. We spent two nights here and encountered rattle snakes and did some adventure in the slot canyons in this area. Wasp traps were exchanged, Gene's design is number 1! This is a six shot panorama stitched together using PTGUI. The dark sky and the warm sunrise create a wonderful contrast for our senses... to be one with your surroundings.

I am still laughing at all the wise cracks we exchanged.

Milky Way

Milky Way

I have never seen so many stars in my life... Being away from the city light pollution exposed the Milky Way on my canoe trip on the mighty Missouri River. This is taken from the Slaughter River Campsite in the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument. Amazing to see this for the first time in my life... The international space station passed by, along with the last of the Persedes meteor shower. Amazing to feel like a child again!
