Artist Daniel Heyman traveled to Amman, Jordan and Istanbul, Turkey to witness interviews and create portraits of former detainees at Abu Ghraib, with a law firm pursuing a class action suit on behalf of the victims. Heyman drew portraits directly on the copper plate during the interviews, and scratched the testimony on the plate as it occured.
