      I like this kind of setings, which seem to be not arranged at all and with a subdued lighting. It has the character of a "daily scenery". The blue-grey color scheme adds to this impression. Like Peter I like the point of focus much which si well set on the eyes of the Herring.
      You could try to enforce the impression of a daily scenery and a not to bright light by increasing the graining. If you use a very high ISO setting, you can get some kind of pixel noise.
