Fontaineblue hotel, Miami Beach

Fontaineblue hotel, Miami Beach

The Fontaineblue hotel was designed by famed architect, Morris Lapidus (1902-2001), and opened in 1954. In the 1950's and 1960's it was home to many Hollywood stars including the Rat Pack, Lucille Ball, Elizabeth Taylor etc. It was the glamor hotel of that era until the lack of legalized gambling in Florida saw it eclipsed by Las Vegas. A major renovation in 2009 costing two hundred million dollars restored the hotel to its former glory. It has 1504 rooms
