This morning I woke up and prepped myself for the long run I had to do. I had to run 16 miles, and I've never run more than 13. I knew it was going to be tough, but I also knew I HAD to do it, in order to stay on marathon track.
I filled up the bottles on my fancy new hydration belt, and set off into the wind and rain. Boy, it was brutal weather out there. And my once pretty white, clean shoes, are now soaking wet and covered in mud.
I paced myself pretty well, and the first 12 miles were actually decent. The last 4 were a struggle, but I finally made it back home. WHEW!
