Surprise in Winter

My hydrangea bush was confused in December. The leaves had mostly fallen off and those that were left were yellowed and mildewed. At the top of the plant was this single bloom. The hibiscus was also making small blooms. January brought some nights in the twenties and now everything is brown and leafless and waiting for spring and new beginnings.
