Anne2_26_12
I haven't taken a polaroid since my birthday last year. Today I dropped by Rare Medium, here in Seattle, with my friend Anne. I picked up a pack of black and white film made by the Impossible Project.
I'm excited to start taking polaroids again, but have to pace myself as 8 exposures cost $22.
This is Anne at lunch.

The winner will be selected WEDNESDAY the 15th of FEBRUARY
About the drawing.
I haven't made many portraits over the past several months and was itching to make one. So I used a photograph I found just the other weekend in Bellingham, Washington- at Alladin's Antiques- as reference.
The world can be a strange and small place. There are two names and a German word typed on the back of the portrait: Maria- Darstellerin Annemie Mayr. After some searching and translation through the internets I found that the girls name is Annemie Mayr and Darstellerin means Actress. She played Maria.
Passion plays are recreations of christ's death. The town of Oberammergau, in Bavaria, Germany has been producing passion plays every ten years since 1634. The townspeople of 1634 promised god to produce a passion play every ten years in return for safety from the bubonic plague that had been affecting the region at the time.
Annemie Mayr played Maria in 1934. This production portrait was taken in relation with that production and somehow ended up in Bellingham, Washington. It now resides in Seattle, Washington. Crazy.
