Chicago and NorthWestern #1776 Bicentennial Paint

Chicago and NorthWestern diesel locomotive #1776 captured in the giant Proviso Yard in its 1976 Bicentennial paint job. At the time this giant switch yard just west of Chicago was and may still be the largest and busiest in the world. - EMD GP9 - October 1978 (Scan Upgrade 2011)

Very cool. I didn't think C&NW had a bicentennial locomotive. Certainly not the best scheme of the era!
