Elvin Michael Wiggins

This is an attempt to locate the family these photos belong to and see if they want them returned. A neighbor buys estate and then tosses out what they can not sale in their store or on eBay. On top of the trash pile the other day I found a box full of framed photos - the frames wer pretty much a loss but I rescued all the Photos. They tell the live of Elvin Michael Wiggins - from child to adult, in his career, marriage, children, vacations. Most of the photos of the kids were addressed to "Grandma". I think the family is from Georgia. My hope is that someone out in flickr land will recognize this guy or know how to get in touch with him. I'd hate to see these end up in the landfill. They belong to the next generation in his family.

Look at that hair! Nice of you to save the photos and post them. I hope they are found someday by someone who knows Mr. Wiggins.

Elvin Michael Wiggins (or Michael E. Wiggins, as he is also known) is easily found through property deed transfers and public telephone listings. It's a little disingenuous to keep this description and posting of his family photos when you have knowledge of where he or his family members are but have failed to contact him. A law enforcement officer might not be too keen on the fact that strangers are posting pictures of his underage daughters. Just a thought.

If MaryAnn is so smart , then maybe she can contact Wiggins...and he can email you if he feels he wants his , photos. Once anything hits the trash , it belongs to the finder.

I traced Mr Wiggins all the way to his last boss, Told him about the photos. Gave him my name, my phone number, my e-mail address. They would not give me his contact info because he is in law enforcement. They said they would give him the message. He never called. I called three Elvin Wiggins and left phone messages and told them what I had and none of the three called back, And the girl you contacted, telling her I was posting photos of her has contacted me and said they are not of her - read her comments. I found the photos in a trash can - I also buy hundreds of photos off of e-bay with names on them. Read the comments I Have. By putting the names on I have gotten photos of family members back in to the right hand. I had photos given to the Navy archive (see comments on the US Navy ships - USS DENVER - I have posted). I have given photos to a women that lost her husband - and I had photos from when they were dating in 1945 (see the Clyde Queen photos). I have got children photos of parents and grandparents that all ended up on e-bay. If you check far enough back you will see people have requested that I add the names (see comments from 2006) to aid in searching for relatives.

I have lots of photos of this man and family, lots of news paper articles, old ID cards, etc - I only posted 20 to see if anyone could identify him and kept the rest (I throw out some of the moldy newspapers and destroyed the ID Cards so no one could use the info to steal the identity).

If you have a problem with this then don't look at them or just ask and I can block you so you do not have to see them. Before you criticize me and what I am doing you should check the facts - my comments speak for them selves - I have over 12,710 images posted and over 310,000 viewers (world wide).

March 9, 2009: GREAT NEWS - Mike Wiggins called tonight - thanks to Dorothy (flickr member IBKC) - Dorothy found an Elvin M. Wiggins on real estate sales in Savannah Georgia and got me an address. I sent him a few photos and my contact info.

He was so happy to know I saved the photos. His Mother lived in Newport News and was moved in to a retirement center 18 months ago - when the movers moved her they threw away lots of her papers - including photos. His Mother died recently. The Photos mean a lot to him and his family and he is glad they are not lost.

A bit of history from Mike: He was the lead detective on the Savannah Murder trials years ago (same time Michael Jackson was in the news with his problems). He was on Nancy Grace show for 8 days while the trial was on. Oprah Winfree's company SNAP made a mini-series about the entire Savannah Murder investigation and trial - in which Mike Wiggins was a key player.

It was such a pleasure to talk to him and he is so glad that the photos are making there way back to him - he had no problem with me posting them. I am mailing the back to him tomorrow morning.

You are a nice man. It's very time consuming to scan photos and post them online in hopes that some family will recognize them.
