these are all connected in surprising ways, but no one wants to admit it because they couldn't get away with as much stuff

I know it's an old line but I may actually be back!! Finally have a few ducks in a row and now all I need to do is sort through the almost 45gb of photos I'm trying to upload. I am so incredibly behind at this point. This one jumped out at me in the thumbnails. I thought of my profile pic right away. She likes to hold her head and neck at that angle. I thought it was the exact same jump but realize her arms are different.

It HAS "the" click!

It HAS "the" click!

I know how crazy this will sound (but do you expect much else from me?)
When I upgraded from the 5D to the II, something felt *off*. While the II is an outstanding camera, the shutter click wasn't right. I went into a deep photography slump and just stopped taking pictures. The camera started to feel less and less natural in my hands. My phone became my creative outlet. I've taken and easily edited some incredible shots on my phone. I've had a lot of fun with iphoneography. It's a whole new world of editing for me.

But I have missed my camera so (SO) much.
I just recently started picking it up and trying. (but haven't posted much b/c i'm pretty sure my Mac is about to die and haven't even been uploading the cards. My back up doesn't seem to be working (both offsite and the back up drives here. I don't know WTH is going on) so I am panicking daily that I'm about to lose everything.

Any ways.... (wow, sorry about that babble. I'm just so happy to come back here) from the first click, everything fell back into place. It felt right with my camera in my hands. I can't wait for it to be tomorrow so I can take some pictures while girlies are at school....squeal

I'd like to leave you with something valuable, she said. You probably already have, I said, but we take most of our lives to remember that, even in the best of times

The girls school raised close to $150,000.00 (at last count) with their St.Baldrick event Thursday. It was an incredible thing to see.

Mr.Cow was the first to celebrate with her when she came home. We threw a spur of the moment surprise birthday party for Mr.Cow and Corduroy (yeah really..we're still doing that all these years later. still)
I have some incredibly amazing awe inspiring littles.

Changing the world

Changing the world

I *know* this is totally uncool, especially because I have been off and on so much this year and because I put it in all the groups that are the coolest ;) But this is important.
Remember her? Well she's shaving her head to raise money for St.Baldricks again this year!! (Joey wants to keep her hair and grow it) I was so stunned when she said she wanted to do it again., I even tried to talk her out of it. But she has a mind of her own and she wants to help the world. Actually her words "I am going to change the world Mom" Her character stuns me. She is an 8 yo girl in a world where mean girls and cliques and GASP boys surround her already and yet she shows so much bravery and conviction. I hope one day I can grow up to be just like her.
So if you could spare even just a $1.00, I would you owe you everything to see that smile she has when she checks her page.
(FTR, I'm shaving too ;) but I haven't raised anything compared to her.)
I don't know if you remember last year but their school broke a record and raised $89,000. when all was said and done. Well this year we have already raised $88,000 and there is still a week to go. There are close to 100 shavees, in a small school. The goal is 100k. Do you realize how many kids that will help?!
