This amazingly fast caterpillar joined us at our campsite in Peppersauce Canyon, on the back side of Mt Lemmon. If you know the name of the caterpillar, please share!

This colorful guy hitched a ride on my niece's pants as we hiked in the Peppersauce Canyon area. Again, if you know his name, please share it! He was quite large, about 3 inches in length.

We also spotted several of these horned toads on our trip. The girls thought they'd make great pets, but we talked them into leaving the toads where we found them, to keep their little "toad families" intact.

Wispy "Butterfly"

These were growing wild on our trip to Peppersauce Canyon. Calliandra eriophylla AKA Fairy Duster, and not a butterfly at all! Thanks to Plant Collector for the ID.
