The little things

The little things

I love Dad's expression here whilst drinking his cup of tea.

There is happiness, reflectiveness, cheekiness all at the same time.

At the beach

At the beach

Loving the Epson V700 and Vuescan combination thus far and i am reasonably happy with the quality of 35mm scans. Certainly more than enough for my needs.

This was done with help from kediwah and his awesome instructions as to how to make BW scans with the Epson V700 and the vuescan.

Much thanks!

Family Hiking Trip to Blue Mountains - Take 3

Family Hiking Trip to Blue Mountains - Take 3

Just acquired a great deal on the Epson V700 last night from "Gumtree" - an online trade and exchange site.

I am really excited about scanning and learning the new skill sets.

Still currently pretty hit and miss with color correction as i dont really know how portra should look like? overall i am pretty happy with the sharpness though. I did find i have to change the film holder height to 3.5mm from the default 3.0mm and the sharpness gained was pretty obvious to me at 100%.

Update: Another day, another step forward with regards to color correction. Much thanks to Ben Anderson's website for its helpful tips. Link below.

Family visit to the Blue Mountains

Family visit to the Blue Mountains

Kodak Portra 400NC Mamiya 7 150mm f:4 (in camera AEL mode)

This was one of my first shots from my very first roll of 120s.

I am really excited about photography again and little did i expect this would be from picking up analogue photography.

The learning curve is really exciting and i am enjoying it greatly.

Special mention to photo extraordinaire Zane for helping me out with all my queries and problems with regards to the Mamiya 7.

The color and depth of medium format film is something i am totally in love with!

This is actually a scan off a print so doesnt really do the image justice. Really can't wait to pick up a decent film scanner in the new year. Epson V700 would be nice!
