saigon-dogmeat-1

Street vendor in Saigon selling dogs decapitated and broiled whole. Their heads are on the second tray and seem to sell out faster. Lady was pissed that I had a camera; guess someone has sicced PETA on her before. What she doesn't realize is that I'm probably one of the few people from America who doesn't really care if a country eats something the citizens of another country deem barbaric and cruel just because the creature happens to be cuddly and cute beforehand, so long as it's not imposed on me. Seeing a dog carcass being sold for consumption, for me, is really no less bloody and disturbing than seeing a slab of beef or pork at a market. And no, I haven't eaten either beef or pork in almost 15 years.

You are definately right that there is no real difference between killing a dog for his/her flesh or killing a cow. The only difference is cultural, not moral! If one is cruel, then so is the other.

This is great, totally agree with your caption. Send this over to Hardcore Meat Photography if you like.

Is dog meat prepared in a special way, or just swapped with other meats?
