roasted garlic

Have you ever have roasted garlic before? I had it for the first time at a restraurant a few months ago, but never at home until this Saturday night. You take a nice big head of garlic and either (1) cut it in half OR (2) cut the top off so the cloves are easy to access (next time, I'm gonna go with option #2). You drizzle some olive oil onto the cloves, wrap the whole head up in foil, and roast it in a 400 degree oven for about 45 minutes. The cloves of garlic get so soft that they are spreadable, almost like butter. You can just dip you knife in and spread it right on your bread. Seriously fantastic.

yum yum! i can't believe there is something out there that i KNOW how to cook that you had never done before! like, on that movie "julie & julia" i was shocked she had so much trouble with a poached egg... i think that was the first thingi ever made.

anyway, i love roasted garlic and i really love this image. makes me hungry.

Beautifully done, both the shot and the recipe. I love the nice shallow depth of field here, and the perspective is great.
